En 1927, deux ouvriers trouvent des vases anciens sur un chantier à Yutz, en Moselle et décident les revendre : après de nombreuses péripéties, les vases finissent au British Museum où ils font désormais partie des 100 plus belles pièces du musée !
Pourquoi ces vases ont-ils été achetés par Londres et non par le Louvre ou par un musée de Metz ? Qu’ont-ils de si exceptionnels ?
Au cours de cette vaste enquête qui mêle reconstitution fictionnée et approche documentaire, le s vases de Yutz seront la clé d’entrée pour découvrir la civilisation celte, si fascinante et si méconnue - alors même que la Lorraine, riche en sites archéologiques, se trouvait au coeur du monde celte et que nom de « Metz » vient de la tribu des « Médiomatriques ».
